Addison Makerspace in East Boston
I was hired to develop, direct, and manage the launch of the Addison Makerspace, a creative hub within a residential community. From inception, I shaped the space into a functional, community-driven environment. I consulted on all major equipment acquisitions—including laser cutters, 3D printers, and any other tools—to ensure they met the diverse needs of both novice makers and experienced fabricators.
I designed and implemented community programming, formed a maker in residence program, and organized accessible events and workshops to engage residents and foster creative confidence. Additionally, I authored comprehensive safety and operational documentation for all tools and equipment, facilitating safe and independent use for all members.
To establish a strong online presence, I created the Addison Makerspace website, providing a clear and informative platform that reflects the space’s mission and serves as a resource for current and prospective members. My role encompassed technical strategy, community outreach, and day-to-day operations, laying the foundation for a welcoming and enduring creative space.
